Terms of Use

The rules of the road.

The agreement between your family and Pixley, in plain words.

Effective Date: October 28, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Pixley AI Inc. ("Pixley," "we," "us") for the Pixley iOS app, pixleyai.com and moments.pixleyai.com. By creating an account, starting a trial, or buying something, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your family's information.

Who can use Pixley

Accounts are for adults 18 or older. Pixley is made for children to enjoy with a parent or guardian: you set up the account, agree to these terms for your family, and supervise your child's use. You're responsible for what happens in your account, including what your child does in it.

Your account

Give us accurate information and keep your sign-in to yourself. Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has used your account.

Plans, free trials and cancelling

  • Plans renew automatically. A subscription is charged at the start of each billing period (monthly or yearly) and renews until you cancel.
  • Free trials: when a plan starts with a free trial, you won't be charged until the trial ends. Cancel before then and you won't be charged at all; otherwise the plan starts at the price shown when you signed up.
  • Cancelling on the website: cancel any time in Settings. You keep your plan until the end of the period you paid for.
  • Cancelling in the iOS app: plans bought through the App Store are billed and managed by Apple. Cancel in your iPhone's Settings; Apple's terms and refund process apply.
  • Refunds: payments aren't refundable for partly used periods, except where the law requires. If something went wrong, email us and we'll do our best to make it right.
  • Price changes: we'll tell you before a new price applies to your plan, and you can cancel before it does.
  • Deleting your account doesn't cancel a subscription. Cancel first.

Stars

Stars are what you spend to make things in Pixley. Plans include stars, and you can buy more. Stars have no cash value, can't be transferred or exchanged for money, and aren't refundable except where the law requires. Accounts inactive for 30 days don't receive weekly stars. We may change how many stars things cost.

Printed books, products and Moments

  • Made to order. Books and other products are printed for you, so we can't take them back if you change your mind. Delivery dates are estimates.
  • Damaged or misprinted? Email us within 30 days of delivery, with a photo, and we'll reprint it or refund you.
  • Moments videos are one-time purchases. If we can't make your video, we refund you.

Your content

What you and your child add to Pixley (photos, drawings, ideas, recordings) and what Pixley makes from them stay yours. You give us permission to store, process and show that content as needed to run Pixley for you, including showing public stories in the Pixley Storyverse while they're public. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from copies we must keep by law.

Only upload what you have the right to use: photos of yourself, your own child, your pet, or someone who has given permission, and drawings and ideas that aren't someone else's characters or brands.

AI-made content

Pixley uses AI to draw, write, voice and animate. We check what it makes to keep it right for children, but AI can still get things wrong, so watch with your child, and report anything that isn't right using feedback in the app or by email. We may decline requests, such as ones that look like copyrighted characters or aren't suitable for children.

Using Pixley safely

Please don't:

  • upload anything you don't have the right to, or anything harmful, hateful, sexual or violent;
  • try to make content that copies other people's characters, brands or likeness without permission;
  • break, overload, copy or reverse-engineer Pixley, or get around its limits or safety checks;
  • use Pixley to break the law or to harm anyone, especially a child.

We may remove content or limit an account that breaks these rules.

Pixley's content

The Pixley app, website, brand, our own characters (like Pip, Benny and Zippy) and the Originals we make belong to Pixley. You can enjoy them in Pixley and share them through Pixley's sharing tools, but not copy or sell them.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk, and we'll tell you why unless the law or safety prevents it.

Disclaimers and limits

We work hard to keep Pixley running well, but it's provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, as far as the law allows. We can't promise it will always be available or free of mistakes.

As far as the law allows, Pixley isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $100. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

Disputes and governing law

If something goes wrong, email us first; most problems are quickest to fix that way. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and any dispute that can't be settled informally goes to the state or federal courts in San Francisco County, California, unless your local law gives you the right to bring it where you live.

Changes

We may update these terms. We'll post the new version here with a new effective date, and email you about important changes before they apply. Continuing to use Pixley after that means you accept them.
